The Oncidium orchid genus is famed for its ability to hybridize very easily. The result is a truly incredible diversity of so-called “intergeneric” orchids. The genera of orchids which are collectively referred to as the “Oncidium (and/or Odontoglossum) Alliance” include Ada, Brassia, Brassidium, Burrageara, Cochlioda, Colmanara, Galeandra, Gomesa, Miltonia, Miltassia, Miltoniopsis, Odontocidium, Rodriguezia, Vuylstekeara, Wilsonara and their many, many hybrids.
