Live Dendrobium orchid plant is NOT currently flowering.
Commonly known as the Rainforest Rock Orchid, this sometimes lithophytic Dendrobium orchid is a truly wonderful compact grower from Australia. Dendrobium speciosum var. curvicaule “Australian” is completely different than your everyday Dendrobium. These mini orchids produce VERY fragrant, comparatively gargantuan cascades of 2″ banana cream colored blooms. Curvicaule, while more compact than other Den. speciosum, will eventually grow very large and wide.
Live orchid plant comes in a 5“ nursery pot, with the perfect potting media to keep your new friend happy and healthy. For exceptional airflow, also available in 5″ net pot.
Care is very easy – this plant will become huge and flower year after year with minimal attention! This orchid prefers the brightest possible indirect light, regular fertilization (“weakly, weekly”), and occasional misting. Dendrobium speciosum alliance are accustomed to dry winters. Choose an eastern exposure (or south/west with a dappled curtain) for the most vigorous growth!
This orchid breed is native to tropical climates and does best around 65 to 80 degrees. Weatherized shipping is included with all our plants whenever required. We delicately wrap our live plants in layers of sheet foam, and include a 72+ hour heat pack when temperatures are low. However, we make no guarantees that our tropical plants will survive extreme freezing temperatures. It’s the duty of the buyer to open packages immediately upon arrival.
