Cattleya aclandiae 4N x 'Midnight Beauty' is a spicy-fragrant species orchid from the Bahia state in Brazil. Back in the 1800's, they called it "Lady Ackland's Cattleya". Lady Ackland was a British noblewoman of remarkable courage. Her Wikipedia page is a fascinating read! Blooms are exotic, spotted with bright fuchsia and... essence of cheetah? Spotted/mottled foliage with fragrant, waxy blooms -- Cattleya aclandiae ticks so many boxes for the astute rare orchid collector.
